Audio Atrocities™ : The Typing of the Dead · SEGA · Dreamcast · 2001
Why settle for cheesy voice acting in a shoot'em up when you can have a crazy Typing Tutor exercise with gore-spewing zombies instead? That was apparently SEGA's thought process when they took House of the Dead 2, with its insane B-movie voice acting, and turned it into a touch typing program.

The game features most of the same audio as HotD2, but there are Typing of the Dead-specific bits added as well. This game is hilarious in that it plays out with a wink and a nod at the player. The protagonists are running around with a Dreamcast and giant battery on their back and have a keyboard hanging from their shoulders. It is one of the funniest things ever committed to CD, and makes the lame voice acting seem right at home. Enjoy the clips below and if you ever get the chance to check out this game, jump at it!

Exhibit A: ...and an expert on the genome theory.
Yes, the delivery is halting and sounds like a first read-through, but the really crazy part is that they can't even get the word genome pronounced correctly.

Exhibit B: Let's go, Gary!
SEGA managed to slide a clip from the Ambiguously Gay Duo into the game..

Exhibit C: People of the AMS, I am Goldman.
ALL the bad-guy clips from Goldman sound like this. Some kind of faux-retarded deliberate delivery with crazy pauses and a cookie-monster-like back-of-the-throat inflection when he shouts. It's hard to believe that even the Japanese staff recording this thought this was okay...but they sent it out to production anyway.
