It's a shame, too, because the artwork and character designs are brilliant, and this is probably the second-best version of Castlevania made (PC-Engine Dracula X being the champ thus far). But you're not here for stats...let's bring the pain. To the "acting"...
Exhibit A: “...think you I would forget such a thing? No!”
How embarrassing! I completely understand when the Yoda voice we all think in comes out the mouth by mistake...uh, wait...you...don't all have a Yoda voice in your head? Um...nevermind.
Exhibit B: “This is really suspicious-looking!”
I wasn't aware that Suzanne Sommers had taken a break to act in a game instead of hawking thighmasters to fat turds while she opted for liposuction. I'm pretty sure this is her, and she's doing her best ditzy blonde thing here, which, of course, is completely out of place unless you're a master of unlocking.
Exhibit C: “Hmmm...a switch. Why don't I press it and see?”
Better yet, why don't you listen hard for the flushing sound as your hopes of an acting career outside Chuck E. Cheese evaporates?
Haven't had enough? Here's some additional clips for your amusement:
